Cozy up With a Cozy: Review Three--Glory Be! by Ron & Janet Benrey (And Our First Giveaway of 2008!)

**So sorry about the late review, but we've been without power since 8 AM in Northern California. It is SO cold in our house...I need to cozy up, how about YOU??**

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the books are so delightful!
And since we're too cold to go...let's read another cozy.......(I know, it doesn't rhyme, but it IS clever, isn't it:-)

I first discovered Ron & Janet Benrey when I read the Pippa Hunnechurch mysteries. If you've never heard of them, I encourage you to search Paperbackswap.com for these fun cozy mysteries!

Until then, I think you'll enjoy their new series that begins with "Glory Be!" A definite cozy, it's set in Glory, North Carolina.

Emma McCall wanted to get away from her past: her ex-husband, her former friends, and those judgmental Christians who just would not let her be--in fact, they blamed HER for HIS infidelity and subsequent divorce!

So she chose to sink her life savings into a bed and breakfast in called The Scottish Captain, and it turns out she made the right choice! Life in Glory is...well, pretty glorious...

Until an unexpected windfall comes to Glory Community Church in the form of a conditional bequeathment. Then the choir begins to come apart at the seams over worship wars.

When someone takes it upon themselves to begin practical jokes with a twist to get their point across in the battle, things heat up fast. It isn't until the jokes stop being "cute" and turn deadly that Emma joins forces with deputy police chief and widowed dad, Rafe Neilson, to find the culprit(s) and bring them to justice.

Will the worship war split Glory Community Church? Will Emma be proven right in her decision to never unite with another church? And what is Rafe's interest in Emma--purely professional, or is there a spark or two?

I absolutely adored this book! The Benreys have hit another homer in my book, and I'm giving "Glory Be!" five out of five bookmarks, with an officer's black notebook as a charm. You'll want to keep your eye on EVERYONE in Glory...'cause you just never know whodunit!

Watch for my review of the second novel in this cozy series, "Gone to Glory", coming soon. And leave me a comment, and you just might win a copy of "Glory Be!" Wouldn't that just be sumthin'??!!

Happy Reading!

Deena
