Firewall by DiAnn Mills

About the Book:

In a matter of minutes, Taryn Young’s happily ever after turns into her waking nightmare.

AFTER A WHIRLWIND ROMANCE, software developer Taryn Young is en route to a dream honeymoon when a bomb decimates the airport terminal, killing dozens. Injured, she awakens in the hospital to discover her husband is missing, and they’re both considered prime suspects in the attack. Further, the FBI is convinced her husband isn’t who he appears to be.

Agent Grayson Hall’s first priority is to catch those responsible for the bombing. Despite the evidence pointing to Taryn’s guilt, Grayson’s gut tells him she’s innocent . . . and in danger. With a possible mole in the FBI office, Grayson and Taryn fight to stay ahead of her pursuers, especially when they learn what the bombers are really after: Taryn’s latest high-security software project. In the wrong hands, it could leave the US vulnerable to massive attacks.

With national security on the line, Taryn and Grayson must unravel the plot and find the architect before their firewall is breached

My Thoughts:

Wow, am I glad I'm not single in today's world!  Is anyone who they really say they are?  And how in the world can you trust in such a deceitful society?

Never fear, DiAnn Mills crafts heroes made of the right stuff, so we can recognize a true man of God when we see one.  Note to female readers: if he seems to perfect, he is...RUN!

Grayson has his flaws, but he genuinely cares about the law and about the people he's assigned to protect.  As he learns more about Taryn his heart gets involved, but he tucks it away until the job is done.

"Firewall" was far more than I expected, and the plot not only thickened, but DiAnn kept adding ingredients up until the explosive ending that gave the story a richer flavor and intrigue.  I would have loved to see her 'writer's notebook' on this one...I can see post-its sticking out of it everywhere as inspiration would hit!

Taryn is an everywoman heroine.  She kind of reminds me of Bruce Willis in the first Die Hard movie....this wasn't what she signed up for, but she was going to see it through no matter the cost.

DiAnn Mills writes with a promise that each of her novels provides an adventure, and you can certainly expect an adventure with "Firewall".  My thanks to my friends at Tyndale Publishing for an advance copy (on tour with CFBA) in exchange for an honest review.

This is some great summer reading...so get a copy today!

Happy Reading!
