Abducted by Janice Cantore

From the Back of the Book:

After solving the mayor’s murder and exposing corruption among the top brass in Las Playas, Carly Edwards is happy to be back on patrol with her partner, Joe, putting bad guys behind bars. For once, everything in life seems to be going right.

But then everything starts going wrong. Slow to recover from an injury, her ex-husband, Nick, begins pulling away just as they were starting to get close again. Meanwhile, when Joe’s wife lands in the hospital with a mysterious illness, their baby is kidnapped. As Carly chases down every lead in a desperate search to find the baby, her newfound faith is pushed to its limits.

My Thoughts:

Janice Cantore's novels are thrilling adventures in the world of law enforcement.  Carly is an intriguing character and I found it refreshing to have a female lead in such a male dominated genre.  Her faith is new so her outlook on God is fresh, which leads to some interesting questions that Janice handles beautifully and biblically.

Nick is a flawed hero that is easy to identify with.  Even his faith is on new legs, and he doesn't get it right every time.  His choices still affect everyone...something he's still learning.  Question remains, will these two reunite, or has too much history come between them.

The story is believable and high octane, and the conclusion is satisfying and a bit of a surprise.  I found this to be just as enjoyable as Janice's first book in this series and I'm looking forward to her next novel.

I received a copy of "Abducted" from Tyndale Publishing in exchange for my honest review.  I highly recommend this book and Janice's other book, "Accused", to readers who like some excitement in their stories.

Happy Reading!
