A Hope Undaunted by Julie Lessman

Anyone who's been reading my reviews for a few months knows one thing about me: I do not like historical fiction, Christian or otherwise. However, when it comes to a novel by Julie Lessman, I make an exception. And I do this for one simple reason...

...when you read a book by Julie, you become a part of the family. And I love that feeling!

In "A Hope Undaunted", Julie reunites us with the O'Connors, a strong, faith-filled family with several daughters of marrying age. In fact, the youngest O'Connor girl is the star of her own story.

Katie is the feisty daughter (and you thought Charity was something!), able to stand up to any man...even her father. She's a woman who knows what she wants and works hard to get it, at pretty much any cost.

Her life is a dream: all set to marry well, to go to law school, and to have a career helping women who are oppressed...all while being the boss of her own destiny.

But breaking curfew one time too many has Katie in major hot water at home. Her father finally puts his foot down, and sentences her to confinement and an entire summer as an intern at the Boston Society for the Assistance of Children.

That's bad enough, but her boss is her childhood nemesis, Luke McGee. He was a thorn in her side then, and he's more of an irritation now. How can she stand it? And what will the summer bring to the O'Connor household?

With passion, faith, and a deep love for family, Julie has penned another enjoyable story. I'm eager for more of the O'Connor family, but it would seem they are fresh out of daughters...so what's next?

My thanks to my friend Donna for my copy of "A Hope Undaunted", which receives four out of five bookmarks from me, with a long string of pearls as a charm. "A Hope Undaunted" is available now from Revell.

Happy Reading!
