It's A Wonderful (Imperfect) Life by Joan C. Webb

We have many heroes of the faith in the literary world. Some adore Beth Moore, others love Joyce Meyer. Me? I'm especially partial to this wonderful lady, and I can't get enough of her books!

Joan's newest release is a devotional that is packed with reminders that we don't have to be perfect women. "It's a Wonderful (Imperfect) Life" will set you free from impossibly high standards beginning at page one and refresh you as you read each day.

The book is divided into sections, each covering a specific aspect of life: work, family, emotions, churches, dreams, plans...each is extensively covered. Joan shares a bit about her personal struggles with perfectionism in nearly every devotional.

Each day's reading also includes a Scripture, a short prayer that is genuine and heart-felt, and a 'make it personal' way to incorporate that day's thought into practice.

Joan's books are like a breath of fresh air to me. I struggle with wanting to please everyone, do everything, and do it excellently right...which wears me out and keeps my head spinning long into the night.

But ending my day with a page from this book helps me realize two things: 1) I'm not alone and 2) I don't have to be perfect. I can just be ME:-)

So, I'm awarding Joan's book, "It's a Wonderful (Imperfect) Life" the Golden Bookmark for Truth in Writing and Excellence in Design, and voting it "Best Devotional Book of 2009".

Happy Reading!
