Guest Review: Snow Angel by Jamie Carie (Reviewed by my Daughter, Victoria)!

As a fan of historical fiction, I knew my 21 year old daughter, Victoria, would be a perfect fit for many titles languishing on my to be read shelves! She is a voracious reader, just like her Mama:-), and an excellent reviewer as well. Here are her thoughts on "Snow Angel" by Jamie Carie:

Based in the late 1800's, "Snow Angel" is a heart-rending story about a young woman and her journey through the treacherous and breath-taking terrain of Alaska. As Elizabeth journey's through the heart of this new land, she also journeys to the heart of God.

Author Jamie Carie describes the time when gold fever struck nearly everyone in the United States, especially Elizabeth. Running from her past and desperate to strike the mother lode, Elizabeth leaves her home in Seattle and heads for Juneau, Alaska to redefine herself and to find her dream.

She arrives with her few possessions and a strong will to accomplish the impossible. But her plans to travel the Yukon are ground to a halt when she gets caught in a fierce blizzard that threatens to take her life.

The storm causes her to rely on someone for the first time in her life.

Can Elizabeth break down the barriers of self-protection to allow Noah into her life? Can God penetrate Elizabeth's wounded heart and reach into the tender spots with his healing love? Can God defeat the demons from her past that plague her and have followed her into this new territory?

Jamie Carie weaves a well-painted tapestry of both scenery and humanity in this tale. Her story of love, betrayal and forgiveness will leave any fan of historical fiction spellbound.

I'm eager to read more by her; her depth of detail is a bit hard to get used to, but once you do the novel holds you tightly in its grip. Thanks, Mom, for giving me this book to read:-)
