Wind River by Tom Morrisey

Author Tom Morrisey is a masterful writer. With just a few words, you can hear the swish of the lake water as the trout jump, taste the coffee brewed over a campfire...and feel the pain of loss and secrets long kept.

"Wind River" tells the story of Tyler Perkins--once an eight-year-old fishing partner, now a soldier returned from battle. Struggling to forget what happened that day in Iraq, Tyler returns to Wyoming to fulfill a promise made long ago.

Soren Andeman is now 86 years old, and in the early stages of dementia. Determined to return to the lake he and Tyler once fished, Soren joins in the long trek up the Wind River Range. Both he and Ty are well aware that this could be their last hike together.

As the two men brave the elements and have their strength tested by the journey, secrets rise to the surface and long held hurts are healed. But the journey is long and arduous, and neither man will return the same.

Written in the tradition of "A River Runs Through It", this panoramic story will hold you captive from the first page. You will feel its powerful message until your bones ache with the travel and your tears roll with the telling, and you won't be the same on the other side.

It's a reading journey well worth the taking. Perfect reading for the men in your life, I highly recommend "Wind River". Be captivated by this story of men seeking forgiveness and the brave women who stand in the gap for them. I'm giving "Wind River" five out of five bookmarks, with a canteen as a charm.

Happy Reading!

Deena, thanks for your kind words about Wind River. A lot of people seem to have connected with this novel, and that blesses me beyond belief.
