Cozy up With a Cozy: Review Five--Murder by Mushroom by Virginia Smith (And our Second Giveaway!)

Photobucket

We're not quite as chilly as we were, but we're still not warm enough in Northern California for me! So, here's another cozy to curl up with...and one of my all time favorites! In fact, I reviewed it several months ago: click here to read my review.

Sounds like an awesome book. You have a cool blog. Here is a recipe that Debbie McComber put on her website of mine.

MANDARIN ORANGE CAKE

1 box Duncan Hines butter cake mix
11 oz. can mandarin oranges and juice
4 eggs
1/2 c. oil
FILLING/ICING:
3 oz. pkg. instant vanilla pudding
20 oz. can crushed pineapple and juice
8 oz. pkg. Cool Whip
CAKE: Beat all ingredients together including the juice from the canned mandarin oranges. Pour into three 8 inch pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
FILLING/ICING: Beat together all ingredients and frost. Keep in refrigerator. This is an excellent "lite" dessert if you use lowfat or fat free products.

Love having chicken parmesan at a potluck. Easy to make, but very good!

Mmmm, I usually bring my ravioli lasagna. Cooked ravioli (usually cheese, in order to appease the vegetarians) layered with tomato sauce and cheese & spinach blend (ricotta, parmesan, mozzarella, chopped spinach and one beaten egg). Bake for 35 min @ 400. Always the first to go! It's labor intensive but a HUGE family fave. Though for Halloween potlucks, I like to bring deviled eggs, with horns and tail cut from red peppers.
