Cold Shot by Dani Pettrey

About the Book:

Dani Pettrey Launches a New Romantic Suspense Series

In college, Griffin McCray and his four best friends had their lives planned out. Griffin and Luke Gallagher would join the Baltimore PD. Declan Gray would head to the FBI and Parker Mitchell would go on to graduate school as a crime scene analyst. But then Luke vanished before graduation and their world--and friendships--crumbled.

Now Griffin is a park ranger at Gettysburg, having left life as a SWAT-team sniper when a case went bad. The job is mostly quiet--until the day he captures two relic hunters uncovering skeletal remains near Little Round Top.

Griffin just wants the case to go away, but charming forensic anthropologist Finley Scott determines that the body is modern--a young social justice lawyer missing since spring--and all evidence points to the work of an expert sniper.

When FBI agent Declan Gray takes over the case, past and present collide. Griffin soon realizes he'll need to confront some of the darkest days of his life if he--and those he cares about--are going to escape a downward spiral of murder that crosses continents.

My Thoughts:

Dani Pettrey earned a place on my must read list with her Alaskan Courage series, and I was excited to see what was next for her.  The wait for a new book seemed excruciatingly long, but Cold Shot is so worth the wait!

Daniel introduces the reader to a brand new cast of characters, and this gang promises to be as memorable as the McKennas.  History forged a bond that tragedi shattered, but childhood friends reunite to help solve a cold case that involves a fresh find in a Civil War burial site.

The mystery woman's identity is enough to get the investigators killed, but as the clues to the crime begin to unravel, more than one crime is exposes.  When wounds of the past collide with evidence from the present, who will be left standing in the end?

Cold Shot is packed with action, laced with romance, sprinkled lightly with humor, and coated in authentic faith.  My thanks to my friends at Bethany House Publishing for my advance copy of "Cold Shot" via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love this new series, and can hardly wait for more!  My one issue: the cover.  But, hey, a girl can live with it!

Happy Reading!
