Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Beth K. Vogt

About the Book:

Wedding bells and storm clouds collide in the first engaging novel in a brand-new series about destination weddings, the power of love, and the possible mishaps and missteps that happen on a couple’s journey down the aisle to “I do.”

Paramedic Vanessa Hollister has put her adolescence behind her, including the unwanted label of being the new kid in town over and over again, thanks to her father’s military career. She’s overcome what her mother called “the biggest mistake of her life” and is planning an elegant destination wedding in Destin, Florida with her new fiancĂ©.

But will the reappearance of her first husband from her what-were-you-thinking teenage elopement disrupt her dream of an idyllic beach wedding?

As a professional storm chaser, Logan Hollister is used to taking risks. However, a reckless decision during the last tornado season has him questioning the future of his team, the Stormmeisters. Coming face to face with his ex-wife eight years after their divorce compels him to confront his greatest regret: losing Vanessa. Does their past give him the right to interfere with her future?

A fast-moving, powerful hurricane throws Vanessa and Logan together as they evacuate to a storm shelter along with other residents of the Florida Gulf Coast. Forced to spend time together, the pair battles unexpected renewed feelings for each other.

Vanessa and Logan are faced with a choice: Should they accept, once and for all, their teenage marital mistake? Or is God offering them a second chance at happily ever after?

My Thoughts:

To quote the younger generation:  Oh, the FEELS!!  I absolutely adore this new book by Beth K. Vogt, and I'm so looking forward to more in her new Destination Wedding series!

To be completely honest, I wasn't sure if this was a book for me when I first started.  See, Vanessa was already engaged to marry a guy, and I didn't really like the guy much at all.  But by the time Vanessa landed in Florida to begin plans for her destination dream wedding, I was hooked...

...that all began in chapter two, so I wasn't a hesitant reader for very long.  And trust me when I tell you that Beth knows her way around a great story...I have a feeling she didn't care much for Vanessa's current fiancĂ© either!

Logan....oh my word.  How dense can one man be?  I just wanted to reach into the book and shake some sense into his ever lovin' storm chasin' head!  For a guy who likes risk and adventure, he sure did chicken out on our girl years ago.

Turns out Mr. Adventure Storm Chaser has regular old feet of clay, and he gets told on soon after Vanessa arrives.  Hilarity ensues, but don't forget to keep the tissues nearby.  Beth had me grinning and laughing on one page, and then tearing up so much I couldn't see by the next scene.

And the ending...oh, that ending!  Talk about exquisite...talk about emotional power....talk about TRUE romance....OH, THAT ENDING!!  It took me almost a full 30 minutes to get through the last two chapters...I kept having to put the book down to dry my eyes.

Yup, this book is a keeper and a half, and if you know of any young women seeking love and romance, give them a copy and tell them to look for a guy like Logan: flawed, but oh so teachable!  I had to run out and hug my husband once I'd finished reading the book...

....because, yes, I got myself a Logan:-)

Thank you to my friends at Howard Books for my complimentary copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  I cannot recommend this book enough to you.  I do believe this one goes on my Top Ten Reads for 2015!

Happy Reading!
