Inside Threat by Jason Elam and Steve Yohn

Is it just me, or does the movie theater marquee read like a comic book shop window?? Obviously, people are hungry for heroes. And heroes are hard to find these days. This dynamic writing duo introduced us to a true American hero in "Monday Night Jihad" and we fell in love with him...and them!

Now Jason Elam and Steve Yohn are back with the fourth and final novel in the Riley Covington Thriller series. Be warned, though...Jason and Steve aren't afraid to break the rules and shake things up.

Riley has returned to football, but his heart just doesn't seem to be in the game. With all he's seen and done, running a ball up and down a field just seems trivial. But it was once his passion, and what else can he do? Return to counterterrorism?

Could be his heart isn't in the game because it's still in the possession of former CIA operative Khadi Faroughi. But when Riley left the team, he said goodbye to Khadi once and for all. Faith in Christ defines every fiber of who Riley is...and Khadi is a devout Muslim.

The gap just couldn't be bridged. So they both moved on.

Now Khadi is caught in the crosshairs of a terrorist plot unlike any you've ever read before. The chilling scenario will have you praying like you've never prayed before. And the Elam/Yohn writing duo craft a story that will leave you breathless...but they've done that before!

Two reasons I absolutely adored this final chapter (not adored that it WAS the final chapter!): characters that are forever woven in the fabric of my memory, like Gooey and Scott...and Skeeter...and Evie. With such great writing in past novels, Steve and Jason now give their cast breathing room, allowing us to see them as real fictional people.

I know, I know. Doesn't make sense, but read the books and it will!

Second, Jason and Steve aren't afraid to go places readers often do not want to venture to, and they have the ability to bend your mind to possibilities you'd never dream of on your own. They've kicked it through the uprights before....this time, they've written the tightest, richest and deepest story of the entire series.

And that's really saying something. I'm hoping these two men collaborate again and again...they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of fiction. And what movies they could make!! Credit goes to my husband for picking up a fresh out of the box copy of "Inside Threat" for me, knowing how much I love this series.

I'm giving "Inside Threat" 'Best Suspense of 2011', and awarding it the Golden Bookmark for Inspiratonal Suspense. What a thrilling ride it's been...and what a great American hero Steve and Jason created!

"Inside Threat" is available now at bookstores everywhere, and is published by Tyndale (I'm so glad they did!) Boo-yah! (I guess I owe a buck to the 'Oh, No You Di'int" jar!)

Happy Reading!

it's not often that i have legitimate tears running down my face while reading a book (i might get choked up or the occasional watery eyes, but rarely actual tears), but this was one of those occasions. such a fabulous series all-around, and i hate to see it end!
