When the Good News Gets Even Better by Neb Hayden

If you're looking for a study with fresh appeal and a unique perspective, I've got a treat for you! Many thanks to my friends at David C. Cook for my copy of Neb Hayden's study on the Gospels.

It's been said to truly plumb the depths of the four Gospels, you need to see them through Jewish eyes. Neb Hayden took that challenge and created a 12 week study called "When The Good News Gets Even Better."

Based on 'A Harmony of the Gospels', Neb has pieced together an intricately woven study that allows us to read the familiar passages of Scripture through fresh eyes. Each week's lesson has highlighted portions that correspond to a set of symbols designed by Neb.

You get an aerial view of the passages, which paints with a broad brush. Then he clues you in on Hebrew culture and history, giving another layer to what you read. Neb also includes his own brief commentary on selected passages.

Snapshots occur periodically to give perspective and context when necessary. Finally, we have application, marked by 'direction' markers in the study.

Each day's study portion has places for you to write your observations, and is filled with insights and notes to enhance your study. I found this book fascinating, and appreciated the unique angle Neb Hayden presented through this in depth study.

I'm giving "When the Good News Gets Even Better" five out of five bookmarks, with a Bible Manners and Customs handbook as a charm. If you want a breath of fresh air in your daily study of the Scriptures, pick up a copy of this book!

Happy Reading!
