Under the Cajun Moon by Mindy Starnes Clark

My biggest issue with Mindy Starnes Clark's newest release was a strong desire to move to Louisiana! She has a way of making like in the deep south, especially Cajun life, sound SO appealing!

But life is anything but appealing for business etiquette professional Chloe Ledet. Her parents have treated her like an inconvenience and a burden for most of her life, so when they urgently need her to return home, it's with mixed feelings she makes her plans.

Her father lies in intensive care with a gunshot wound, received mysteriously. It's now up to Chloe to meet with the family attorney to sign the papers her father drew up, purchasing a tract of land in the Bayou known as Paradise.

But when Chloe wakes up in a hotel room with the attorney, and he doesn't wake up...did she murder him and black out? Or is Chloe being framed? And who would do such a thing?

Could it be family friend Sam? Chloe's old love, Travis Naquin? And why would someone want her out of the way...or dead? With mystery, intrigue, romance and a bit of Cajun spice, Mindy has written yet another hit novel.

My only quibble was the back and forth between 1700 France and today's events...but they finally neatly tied together near the end of the story. I'm longing for some zydeco and a couple of pig's ears now....

...so I'm giving "Under the Cajun Moon" four out of five bookmarks, with a cell phone charger as a charm...you just never know when you might need one, cher!

Happy Reading!
