Sleeping Beauty by Judy Baer

My husband is so sweet. When he saw me reading this book, he got all excited. "Are you reading a book just for you?" he asked. At the time, I meant it when I said yes. I wasn't reading 'for work'.

But how can I enjoy such a fun-filled, quirky novel and not share it with all of you?? Judy Baer's stories are unique and often times, hilariously funny. This may be a hard-to-find novel, but it's worth the hunt.

"Sleeping Beauty" is Suze Charles. She's been a nocturnal wanderer since childhood...falling sound asleep and finding herself in some odd and awkward moments as she leaves her bed for places unknown.

And she's tried everything, resigning herself to not only being the family joke, but being alone the rest of her life. After all, who wants a wife who might one day think she's wrestling a grizzly, only to awake and find herself punching out her hubby?

Enter Dr. David Grant, sleep specialist and handsome, tall and dark. Just because he's writing a book on sleep disorders, that doesn't mean he's only clinically interested in Suze. Does it?

Toss in two terrorizing twin nephews, animal rescues of the bizzare kind, a best friend who thrives on professionalism and a co-rescuer who dies his mohawk regularly, and hilarity doth ensue!

When I had to take sleeping medication for nearly a year, my family had some wild stories to tell about me, and they still like to repeat them to this day. I could so relate to Suze! But can she ultimately relate to Dr. Grant, or is he betraying her trust with his new book?

I'll leave you to ponder that one while I give "Sleeping Beauty" four out of five bookmarks, with a pair of bunny slippers as a charm. I don't know if you'll still be able to find this particular novel, but anything by Judy is worth a read!

Happy Reading!

Thank you for your review. I live in Holland, so I don't know if i'm going to find the book here. But it really does sound great. :)
