This has been a FUN month! My humble thanks to Sharon for being my guinea pig in this project.
We must be successful, because I'm booked through April 2009 already:-)
To wrap this up, I asked Sharon to dig deep in her closet of secrets and share with us her most unusual or embarrassing place where inspiration hits her/deadlines force her to write. She shared THIS tidbit:
Not sure how STRANGE it is, but it’s definitely a challenge. I often get great ideas when soaking in the bathtub. I considered getting soap crayons, so I could write the ideas on the tiles. Instead, I now bring my Dictaphone and set it by the tub. It saves jumping in and out to jot ideas. However, I’m a little nervous I’ll drop it in the water one day and electrocute myself. :-)
I’ve also (blushing to admit this) jotted scenes during my kids’ piano recital, and of course in the margins of the church bulletin during the sermon. People assume I’m taking frantic sermon notes. As well I should be.
Now, let me know where INSPIRATION hits YOU most often (or most unusual place you've been found reading) and I'll send you a copy of "Stepping Into Sunlight" w/goodies...drawing my winner November 7th!
If I've been successful at all, you've learned to love Sharon as much or more than I love her. So, get out there and buy her books! Show your support and let's keep Sharon writing till Jesus comes!
Happy Reading!

I don't think there is an unusual place to read. I have written here and there in some unusual spots literally. As a cashier back in the day, I wrote ideas down on the register paper. As a cocktail server in a casino a few years back, I wrote on cocktail napkins, register tape, and even a matchbook (a one liner that I overheard that was just awesome). Still thinking about strange places to be reading...reading anywhere is just what I do I guess. :)

My spot for inspiration and reading is our lovely sunroom. It used to be a screened-in porch until my husband had it closed in. Now I can sit and gaze out at our wooded yard and sometimes see a doe and her fawns.
Thanks for the chance to win Sharon's book.

Deena, suffice it to say that some of my books have a nice little square of toilet paper as a bookmark! But that's not so unusual now is it? Really?
I carry a blank notebook with me everywhere I go, so I am never without a place to capture ideas no matter where I am! The most aggravating thing though is to get up during the night - you think you'll remember but....
Thank you for hosting Sharon this month! She is a fabulous lady, and I look forward to reading more of her work! (Hint! Hint!)

I have a notebook that I keep by my chair for whenever inspiration hits me (be it literary or crafty). I have several ideas on paper and haven't written in years now... painful... life has gotten in the way. I also carry a little notebook in my purse as well.
Thank you for sharing Sharon with us this month. She's new to me and I love finding new authors.

Wow...is there anyplace inappropriate to read? Let me think a moment. Okay, it's a tad embarrassing to admit, but here goes: Doctor's exam table during annual GYN testing (to keep my mind off what's happening).
Thankfully, my OB/GYN is a former high school classmate, so she's not surprised by my "unusual" behavior at this time.
Looking forward to reading more of Sharon.
A few years ago I kept the scorebook for my daughter's high school softball team. One year I was reading Redeeming Love and just could not put it down, I read that book and kept score at the same time. The girls were amazed and all wanted to read the book because I was in tears and kept saying, "this is so good.
Loved learning all about Sharon!
I get inspired while running through story lines as I lie in bed at night. I live out scenes in my mind. Now that I have a laptop (yes!) maybe I can get up and do some actual writing during those hours.

I don't know if I have a weird reading spot, but I read about an hour a day while riding my exercise glider.

Well, as a kid, we had this huge maple tree in our yard. There were three branches that were just perfect - one to sit on, one for a back rest, and one for my feet. Mom couldn't see me up in there, so I'd go up there with my book, and was "out of sight out of mind" when it came to random chores. ;)
Now, mostly I read in bed at night, or in the bathtub.
Thanks for your series on Sharon Hinck, I've really enjoyed it.

I love hearing all these creative places to read and write. :-)
Deena, thank you again for introducing me to so many of your friends through this blog. I loved hearing how many people never heard of my books - but now they have, thanks to you!!!
As the old song says, "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold." How fun to interact with silvery and golden buddies here!!!
Recently my mother woke up with numbness in her legs. I had to call an ambulance to take her to the ER. I knew it would take time to transport and get her in the back, so after they put her in the ambulance, I went home (one street over) to grab a book. I confess, every time she dozed off, I read a few pages!
Thanks for the introduction to Sharon. I look forward to reading Stepping Into the Sunlight!
I get inspired with ideas through dreams I have. Sometimes I will pray that God will speak to me through a dream and then I wake up and write on whatever is close to me.
