There's A Spaceship In My Tree! by Robert West

Photobucket

Finally, some good Christian fiction for boys! While not my kind of reading, I know young, Christian boys everywhere are going to be crazy about this new series by Robert West!

"There's A Spaceship in My Tree!" is the debut novel in a new series for boys (and girls) 13 and under called "The Star Fighters Of Murphy Street". Even some older teens may find this a great imaginative book for them.

Beamer MacIntyre is in a funk. His dad lost the job he had in California, forcing the family to move to...gulp...Middle America. Feeling like an alien from another planet, Beamer is forced to deal with the way things work in a much quieter and slower paced community.

Plus, his new house is weird. Scientists or something lived there before, and they've done some strange things to the place. Some are cool, some are weird, and some are just plain...well...creepy!

It doesn't help that Beamer accidentally had a run in with the local bully...one that went badly for the bully! Now he has a bull's eye painted on his back, and his new friends, Ghoulie and Scilla, aren't much better off.

When the trio discover the spaceship-shaped tree house in Beamer's back yard, the excitement and adventure really begins. Can this odd monstrosity save them from being pummeled by Jared Foster and his Scullcross gang?

And what's up with Parker's Castle? Is it haunted...or does it hold enticing secrets yet to be discovered?

You'll find out when you pick up a copy of "There's a Spaceship In My Tree!" for your son or daughter...and you'll just have to read it first:-) Parent's rule, doncha know!

My only groaner was the change in font (type face) that occurs in the book. These tired, old eyes had a bit of trouble with it. But my son thinks it's cool, and he's 14...so don't take my grumble as worth anything! I'm giving the book four out of five bookmarks, with a firefly as a charm

Happy Reading!

Thanks for the review, Deena! With two young teen sons, I'm always up for something new.

I haven't been around in awhile, but it's good to be back over here and check out your reviews. Hope things are going well for you.

Blessings,
