The Chase by Susan Wales & Robin Shope

Photobucket

I'm a weirdo when it comes to my reading. Thank GOODNESS for generous authors such as Robin and Susan:-) I received their entire series of political thrillers, and I'm slowly making my way through the trio just in time for their new release to hit shelves soon.

"The Chase" is a high energy suspense tale that takes us from the lights and excitement of Washington, D.C. to the tiny town of...Delevan, Wisconsin? Yup, when hard hitting investigative reporter Jill Lewis is "exposed" as incompetent and loses her high powered job, she ends up back home working for the local paper.

Still, Jill has a nose for news, and she is certain her facts in the story of her career were accurate. With help from Craig Martin, managing editor of Delevan's weekly newspaper, she continues her investigation into the unsavory practices of potential presidential candidate Senator Burke.

What will Jill's chase for the truth cost her? Have others died hiding what she's trying to uncover, and could Jill's own life be in danger? And what's up with Craig and his mixed signals on the romantic side of life?

Susan and Robin have expertly balanced the easy going side of small town life with the high energy of Washington movers and shakers, and created a storyline that is not only believable, but highly plausible in today's political climate.

I'm giving "The Chase" four out of five bookmarks, with a computer disk as a charm (hey, this book was written before flash drives came along:-).

Be watching for more reviews of these political thrillers!

Happy Reading!
