Vanish by Tom Pawlik

What causes a successful and angry lawyer, a middle-aged model on the brink of retirement, and a budding entrepreneur on the verge of a life changing moment to cross paths?

Why, it's Tom Pawlik's stunning debut novel, "Vanish", (winner of the 2006 Operation First Novel Contest). In this creative masterpiece, Mr. Pawlik has written not just a page turner, but a pager BURNER...I felt the breeze as the pages flew by!

All three characters--Conner, Helen, and Mitch--experienced the same phenomenon. An odd thunderstorm, filled with bolts of multi-hued lightening. And then, suddenly, it was as if they woke up and were all alone.

Stunned, shocked, and frightened, each sets out to find other "survivors", only to meet up with one another and a few other colorful characters along the way. Each has a haunting past, and each is longing to know....

....what's OUT there? Are they being watched? Is this some kind of spooky game? And where is everyone else? Soon Conner meets a mysterious boy in tattered clothing who can see those "things" that are mere shadows, phantoms.

Does he hold the key? Oh, you'll want to know...you'll ACHE to know that, and more! This novel gripped me from page one and did not turn loose until the final page was turned. And it was SO hard not to peek ahead:-)

But I didn't. And you can't either, because "Vanish" doesn't release until July 2008 from Tyndale Publishers!

I know, I'm mean. But look at it this way...if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't even know to put it on your wish list!

I'm giving "Vanish" six out of five bookmarks with a tiny flashlight as a key chain. You'll need to keep the lights on for this one--if you're easily creeped out, be careful.

But it is SO worth it! I can't WAIT to see what Tom Pawlik writes up next:-) In fact, I'm voting "Vanish" best debut novel of 2008!

Happy Reading!
