She Always Wore Red by Angela Hunt

Photobucket

I wonder sometimes...how can a mere review do such a magnificent piece of writing justice? Who am I to express the emotion found among these pages? And yet, I have to tell you just how powerful and emotional the soon to be released Angela Hunt novel is.

Jennifer Graham, owner of the Fairlawn Funeral Home, is back in "She Always Wore Red". Now in college learning how to be a funeral home owner (basically, how to care for the deceased and earn her legal right to do so), she's juggling a lot...

...business owner, mortician, mom, student, daughter...and then a new role is thrust upon her when McLane Larson comes to Mt. Dora. Seems McLane is a newly married woman, her husband Jeff serving his country in Iraq, and now she's discovered she's expecting.

What can Jennifer do, but reach out in Christian love? Especially when the secrets hidden come pouring out. Can Jennifer's faith survive this series of intense trials? Will her faith be strong enough to lead McLane to her own trust in Christ?

So much takes place between the covers of this book, I was overwhelmed and captivated. Discussing some heavily sensitive issues (which I won't spoil for you), Angela Hunt writes with grace saturated words and stunning revelations that both make you catch your breath and cry, "Lord, is it I?"

I fell in love with this unusual premise for a series with the first book, "Doesn't She Look Natural?" Who knew it could get even better with the sequel?! I've read pretty much every book with Angela's name on it, and I honestly believe this to be her best yet.

Masterfully written, rich with emotion, and intricately woven, Angela Hunt has written a jewel of a book. So, I'm awarding "She Always Wore Red" the Golden Bookmark (which truly is rare...I've just had a run of amazing reading lately!). And I eagerly await the next chapter in the Fairlawn series!

"She Always Wore Red" releases from Tyndale May 2008...don't miss out! Oh, and before I forget, "Doesn't She Look Natural" is being re-released with a new cover that is WAY cooler than the old one!

Happy Reading!
