For Pete's Sake by Linda Windsor

Photobucket

I have to be honest...I was a bit reluctant to read this one. I was a tad bit disappointed by "Wedding Bell Blues", and I didn't know what to expect.

I'm happy to report that, after a time of mourning and healing, Linda Windsor is back, and she is writing better than ever!! "For Pete's Sake" is a heart rich novel full of genuine love, God's love, and the endless possibilities when we trust in Him.

Ellen Brittingham is an enigma. She's an expert landscaper, a devoted daughter, a loving Christian woman...and she rides a Harley, loves to hunt, and snorts when she laughs.

I LOVE HER!!

Trouble is, she doesn't feel as if most people "get her"...with the exception of the Sundae Girls...her friends Alex, Jan, and Sue Ann. So when she meets her new neighbor, Adrian Sinclair, Ellen is shocked to find her breath taken away so suddenly.

But she's met her match in Adrian's 11 year old son, Pete (or Peter, as he insists on being called). Diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, he prone to fits of rage, takes everything literally...and hates his future step-mom with a passion.

What's a good, Christian girl to do in a situation like this? Especially when her rapport with Pete grows daily, as does her unexpected attraction to Pete's dad?

When Adrian's company is under investigation by the FBI for espionage, the story twists from Christian romance to Christian suspense, and Linda handles the transition like Ellen handles the Harley on a curve...brilliantly!

So, who will Adrian choose? Will Pete have a say? And how does Ellen really feel about it all? Pick up the second book in the Piper Cove series, and I dare YOU not to fall in love with Mrs. Duffy, Bea Brittingham, and the entire cast (minus a villianous or two)!

This is Linda's best, and I'm so HAPPY about it! She has been through so much in her life, it's great to see the Son shine in her writing so brightly again. Continue to pray for Linda, and visit her website here.

I'm giving "For Pete's Sake" five out of five bookmarks, with a clam shell necklace as a charm...you'll figure it out! The Piper Cove Chronicles is published by Avon Inspire, and we're promised more great inspirational fiction soon!

Happy Reading!

Deena
