Did you know that three out of four teens would choose for their parents to stay on top of them and not just let them do whatever they want with their freedom?
Did you know that 94% of teens say they need the security of knowing that an understanding parent would always be there for them?
Did you know that nearly seven out of ten kids admitted that they would find a way to do something they wanted to do, even if their parents might disapprove?
Neither did I, until I read "For Parents Only" by Shaunti Feldhahn and Lisa A. Rice!
My only question remaining is "Where was this book 20 years ago when my oldest was born?!?
Subtitled "getting inside the head of your kid", that is exactly what this book lets the reader do. Packed with survey information and personal anecdotes, "For Parents Only" is a trusty tool in helping parents and teens re-connect.
"For Parents Only" covers topics such as teen rebellion, why teens act so weird, how to talk to your teen so he or she will listen. I found myself shaking my head and nodding at times--so THAT'S why they do things this way!
I highly recommend this book for parents of all ages. Reading it while your children are small gives you a head's up on changes ahead...reading it while your children are in the strange teenage phase will give you insight that might prevent blow ups once you "get them".
In fact, I find this book SO helpful and SO packed with wisdom and insight, I'm offering two copies to my readers! Leave me a comment telling me the ages of your children, and I'll pick two winners on December 3rd!
Tomorrow, I'm posting more from "For Parents Only", so don't miss out!
Happy Reading!
