Notes From A Spinning Planet by Melody Carlson (Plus another giveaway!)

Melody Carlson has shown over and over again that she has a heart for today's teen girl. A prolific writer, Melody now has two new series out that are totally different, but equally wonderful.

"Notes From a Spinning Planet" are the chronicles of Madison "Maddie" Chase as she travels with her Aunt Sid to faraway lands. Sid is a journalist, and her work takes her to places like Ireland, New Guinea, and Mexico.

Accompanying Maddie and Sid to Ireland is Ryan McEntire, Sid's godson. On their trip to Ireland, Aunt Sid is researching peace camps, Ireland's response to the violence that has plagued her for so long.

While Sid does her research and interviews, Maddie and Ryan try to uncover the truth behind his father's death in a car bombing when Ryan was just an infant. Along the way they discover some surprising evidence that could either thrill or anger Aunt Sid.

Packed with description and detail, "Ireland" is an enjoyable novel that will have you longing to see the Emerald Isle for yourself. Maddie's voice in the story is authentic and I'm growing attached to Melody's use of first person in her novels.

Next in this series is "New Guinea", followed by October's release of "Mexico". All of the books in the "Notes From a Spinning Planet" series are guaranteed to satisfy the world traveller in all of us.

I give this new series by Melody Carlson four out of five bookmarks with a passport charm. And I'm giving YOU a chance to win "Mexico" right now! Just leave me a comment and I'll be picking a winner on Friday, August 24th!!

Now, I'm suffering jetlag from jetsetting with her, so I'm off to find something ELSE new from Melody to read!

Happy Reading!

If Hurricane Dean weren't on its way, I would say I wish I was in Mexico right now, so I think the book would be an excellent substitute, please count me in, thanks!
