To Dance In The Desert by Kathleen Popa

This debut novel by Kathleen Popa is magical. A telling of broken lives in the process of being made whole, her writing is haunting and poetic.

Dara Brogan has suffered loss in her life, both as a child and as a grown woman...unimaginable loss. She runs to her hideaway in the desert, and meets Jane Cameron, another broken soul who has learned to dance in the desert with her God.

Through a series of circumstances, we meet Jane's brother and his daughter Clementine, Hooper--Clemmie's grandpa, and a whole host of broken people in process. Lives intertwine, touch, and rub against others and healing begins. A slow, steady process with bumps and interrupts along the way.

Kathleen's writing style is lyric; even after the story has ended, the fragrance of her words lingers in your soul, calling to the broken areas of your life, and offering healing. A soothing balm for the wounded soul.

I may not dance in the desert...but I boogie on the beach! So I totally got the message of Kathleen's book...and hopefully you will as well.

I encourage you to pick up a copy of this shining debut novel. "To Dance In The Desert" gets 4 bookmarks from me, with a translucent pearl charm...read the story to find out why.

Happy Reading!

Deena, great review! I can never summarize the story without giving too much away, but you did a beautiful job.

Oh, how is it, you with your obvious love of fantasy, have not joined the Christian Science Fiction and Fantasy Blog Tour. ;-)
