Be Sweet by Diann Hunt

Just when I thought it was safe to pick up another novel by Diann Hunt! My face hurts from smiling and my stomach hurts from laughing..."Be Sweet" is a sweetheart of a novel! (And while I did miss Crusher---we have another furry creature to keep us company...and that's ALL I'm sayin!)

Charlene Haverford and Janni Ort are sisters. They have the same mom and dad. And that's where the similarities end.

Charlene now lives in Maine and sells commercial real estate and Janni is holding down the family fort at the maple syrup farm. Janni bakes cookies and Charlene...well, Charlene eats them.

Janni has the ideal homelife and Charlene left years ago after her husband left her for one of "The Evil Friends."

When Char goes home to help with the syrup harvest, siblings clash and things get sticky rather quickly. Can Char ever move past the pain of her divorce and learn to live with her perfect little sister? And is her little sister all that perfect anyway?

Chocked full of maple syrup facts and tidbits about the syrup making progress, "Be Sweet" begs the question--can family relationships BE more complicated?? I loved every moment of this story, and that's not sappy praise (sorry, I couldn't resist!).

"Be Sweet" gets the full five out of five bookmarks, with--what else--a maple syrup bottle for a charm. But be warned...you'll need tissues...for the tears of laughter, and the joy you'll find in a Diann Hunt novel!

Happy Reading!
