The Potluck Club Takes the Cake by Linda Evans Shepherd and Eva Marie Everson

I almost missed out on this series. The covers were cute, but cheesy, and I'd had my fill of Yada Yada Prayer Group copycats.

But this group of women is FUN and FEISTY! And I've loved getting to know them better through the stories of The Potluck Club.

Evangeline Benson is the founding member of TPC...she and her then best friend met for dessert and prayer. Her friend went home to Jesus, and before she knew it, Evie had an entire group of women looking to her for direction and guidance: Lizzie, Goldie, and Vonnie were her new Potluck Club women. Donna was a reluctant member, and Lisa Leann...well, she just tries to take the cake every time.

This is the third installment of this series, so I don't want to give away too much. Suffice it to say that knots are untangled and relationships in jeopardy are moving toward restoration. There's a lawsuit, a pregnancy scare, lots of love and romance in the air, and who is DeeDee McGurk, and what does she want?

Each chapter is one woman's story, and all are woven into a tapestry of love and friendship and faith. Recipes for The Potluck Club are included in each novel, and while they look enticing, I've never tried one yet.

If you like chick-lit, and stories about groups of women loving and supporting and praying for one another, then you'll thoroughly enjoy this series. All they need now is a blog, and they'd be set! This is what I'd hoped to find in another series I recently tried...maybe I need to send those authors a copy!

"The Potluck Club" gets three bookmarks and an entire set of charms from me...for all the charming women in this series!

Happy Reading!
