Deep Green: Color Me Jealous by Melody Carlson

In the second book in the True Colors series, Melody continues the story of Jordan Ferguson. Now on the cheerleading squad, she has succeeded in stealing the boyfriend of her cheering rival, Shawna Frye. Timothy Lawrence has suddenly become a wishbone of contention between the two girls.

This novel is a view into the world of the teenaged girl and the lengths she will go to in order to get what she wants. The rivalry turns ugly, and the consequences keep getting higher and higher.

Kara Richardson makes another appearance in this novel as well. Newly saved, she shares her faith rather boldly with Jordan, and has her testimony backed up by Edgar, one of her art buddies and the one who led her to Christ. Between Kara and Edgar, they present a well-balanced and highly applicable testimony to Jordan and to the reader.

Jealousy is an evil monster, and it can drive a human being to great lengths. It is sad to read how far it drives Jordan and Shawna...especially knowing that this really goes on in today's schools. But it is eye-opening for both parents and teens alike, and a very important topic.

I highly recommend this series to moms, aunts, grandmothers, and anyone who has a teen girl in her life she needs to influence. This is a view you will rarely get into their world...a very well written view...

"Deep Green" gets 3 bookmarks and one tassel from me.

Watch for a guest review from my daughter, Katy, on the first book in this series, Dark Blue: Color Me Lonely...

Happy Reading!
