Author of the Month--M.L. Tyndall's Favorite Recipe!

I love it when my authors share recipes...I have a dream of a cookbook compiled of author recipes on my shelf one day...

Until then, try out this favorite recipe from MaryLu:

Charleston Crab House’s Barbeque Shrimp and Grits

Makes 4 Servings

1/2 stick of butter
1/2 qt. whipping cream
3 cups water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. white pepper
1 cup grits
1 lb. shrimp, peeled & deveined
1/2 stick butter
1 qt. barbecue sauce
4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
To make the grits: In a small saucepan, place 1/2 stick butter, whipping cream, water, salt, and black and white pepper. Bring to a boil. Add grits and turn off the heat. Stir occasionally, uncovered. To make the shrimp: Saute shrimp in 1/2 stick butter until pink. Add barbecue sauce and bring to desired temperature. Pour grits in ovenproof dish. Pour barbecue shrimp over grits. Sprinkle cheese over the top lightly to cover. Bake at 350 degrees until cheese is melted.
