About the Book:
When Meagan Berry is caught on camera rescuing a senator, she knows her cover's been blown. After faking her death, she's spent months keeping her identity hidden from an abusive ex-fiancé. Now he's on her trail in remote Cedar Key, Florida.
Officer Hunter Kingston knows Meagan's running from something, but he can't imagine anyone wishing harm on the pretty artist. Then an intruder breaks into Meagan's house, and Hunter promises not to leave her side.
But when evidence from the crime scene doesn't add up, Hunter wonders whether he should trust Meagan. Yet he will have to put his faith in this mysterious beauty if they both want to live to see another day.
My Thoughts:
True confession:
I stopped reading Love Inspired a while back. But, only because there's just So. Much. Good. Stuff.
When I was asked to review a couple of new titles, I was honored. And wow, am I glad I said yes! Love Inspired Suspense has grown really intense!
Carol had me from the first few pages, and it was another round of "Just One More Chapter" for me. Gripping, thrilling and fast paced, with excellent character building and sequence of story.
Don't you just get kind of twitchy when you KNOW someone's hiding something but you can't put your finger on it?? Yeah, that's what Meagan does to Hunter, but he handles it much more professionally than I would.
It is no exaggeration that this is a true life or death story. If a certain someone finds Meagan, she's certain to die. It's Hunter's job to find the truth and to protect her from harm. And, of course, sparks fly between the two while they are on the run.
Between this book and the last two I've read, I do believe I'm hooked on LIS novels once again! And that is a very good thing.
My thanks to Carol for a complimentary copy of her book in exchange for an honest review. I honestly recommend "Hidden Identity"!
Happy Reading!
