My Thoughts:
This is the ideal book for the fans of The Berenstain Bears series! Author Mike Berenstain has combined his skill at weaving a story with some fun and easy recipes. I plan on trying a few of these myself!
The book is divided into four sections, five if you include the appendix. We open with 10 tasty breakfast recipes, then move on to lunch with another 10 delish recipes for the midday meal. Next are the Main Dishes, 10 delectable choices, and Dessert/Snacks rounds out the book with 10 scrumptious selections.
How about some "Bear-y Good Oatmeal" or "Bunny Biscuits" to start your day? At noon try "Lettuce Wraps" or whip up a pot of "Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup". Have dinner on your mind? Why not try "Easy Enchiladas" or "Grilled Chicken with Carrots"? And for dessert let's have "Banana Pops" or a slice of "Cola Cake"!
Each portion of the recipe book opens with a story that is fun and educational, and crafted in the tradition of The Berenstain Bears book series. The illustrations are full color and introduce each section in a fun and engaging way.
My thanks to my friends at Zondervan for sending me a complimentary copy of "The Berestain Bears' Country Cookbook" in exchange for an honest review. Highly recommended, and perfect for Easter Baskets!
Happy Reading!
