Delirious: My Journey with the Band, a Growing Family, and an Army of Historymakers by Martin Smith with Craig Borlase

I've enjoyed their music, but to be honest, I've never thought much about the journey, or about the people who make up the band. In an enjoyable and easy to read book, front man Martin Smith takes on the journey that is "Delirious".

"Delirious" performed together for seventeen years, but the journey began long before that. Martin shares his early days, beginning as an infant with a life-threatening disease and how God answered his parents' prayers, to the time he met and fell in love with his beautiful wife, Anna.

Along the way he shares from his heart, giving us glimpses into his relationship with Jesus, his thoughts on worship, and his heart for the lost. As lead singer for the band, Martin takes us on a world tour, so to speak.

He shares about the concert that broke his heart and opened his eyes to suffering and poverty around the globe. His heart for missions is huge, and his passion is infectious.

Martin also shares about his family and his struggles to make music, touring, minstry and family all work together. You'll also read about his decision to leave Delirious to minister at home more.

"Delirious" contains ups and downs, valleys and mountaintop moments, and successes along with a few failures. Genuine, honest and vibrant...three words I'd associate with "Delirious", the book.

I found Martin's story engaging and it left me with a lot to think about. Even made me want to pull out my Delirious cd's for a fresh listen! Whether you're a fan of the band or you're just discovering them, I think "Delirious" is worth the read.

I'm giving it four out of five bookmarks, with a microphone as a charm. My thanks to Audra at B&B Media for my copy! Be watching for my review of Anna Smith's book, coming soon!

Happy Reading!
