Always by Melody Carlson (WITH A GIVEAWAY!)

Oh, how I wish Melody Carlson was writing books when I was a growing Christian teen! It doesn't matter if it's fiction or non-fiction...she just has a way with words...and the truth...that can touch a young girl's heart.

"Always" is the third devotional for teen girls, and (unfortunately) the final book. In this book, Melody shares the impact Christ's own words have when we truly read them and soak them in.

Each devotional tackles a portion of the 'red letters' found in the New Testament. The reading is short and precise, and Melody's devotional is written in a very conversational tone.

The readings open with "Words from The Rock"...the Rock being Jesus, our foundation and cornerstone. Then Melody writes her thoughts on the passage, and how these words have impacted her own life.

Each reading closes with a prayer and a final word. I love her "Stones for the Journey", little nuggets you can carry with you as you journey throughout your day...and your life.

Melody has a unique knack for finding her inner teen voice and sounding both relevant and authentic without watering down the truth of Scripture. I highly encourage moms to pick up a copy and examine it for yourself...then share it with your daughter(s).

I'm giving "Always" four out of five bookmarks, with a highlighter as a charm. Take notes, write in a journal, and keep these words not only close, but IN your heart. My thanks to Donna at Revell for my copy (and my apologies for missing last week's tour!).

As a HUGE thank you...I'm giving away all three of Melody's devotional books: "True", "Life", and "Always"! Leave me a comment, telling me the ages of your daughters (or granddaughters), and I'll draw a winner on October 31st!

Happy Reading!
