An Eye for an Eye by Irene Hannon

A new queen of suspense joins the ranks of Brandilyn Collins, Terri Blackstock and Dee Henderson...her name is Irene Hannon. Remember that name. With her second book in the "Heroes of Quantico" series, Irene has proven she is here to stay....and I'm SO glad!

I actually didn't want to read this book. Irene is one of the few authors I save and savor...usually closer to the release date of the next book. Mainly because I just can't get enough of her stories.

In "An Eye for an Eye", Irene is a pro at reader manipulation. From the opening chapter, you're wondering 'who is the target', 'why is he/she the target', and 'who's hiding something from whom'...all answered throughout the telling of the story.

FBI Specialist Mark Sanders is on restricted duty due to an accidental shooting of an innocent. Is HE the one the shooter is after?

Emily Lawson, his love from long ago, counsels people with anger issues, helps abused women, and was widowed by a tragic fire incident. Is SHE the intended target?

You really can't guess until Irene finally gives and shows you who and why...talent extraordinaire! I spend most of my reading time devouring Christian suspense, and I love a good story. Irene tells a great story.

I REALLY am delighted when I can't see the twists coming, but they totally fit the parameters of the tale. And Irene is a master at twists. Her characters are so fleshed out they literally walk off the page.

Nothing is faked. Nothing feels phony or contrived. This is masterful storytelling, and I cannot wait for her next novel to release. It was painful to end this one, knowing I couldn't go to my shelf and pull the next one down to read it.

I highly recommend Irene Hannon's "Heroes of Quantico" series, and if I find out there are only three books...well, let's just say I'm going to be emailing Irene to nudge her to keep writing in this genre! I haven't been this thrilled with a series since "The O'Malley's".

Seriously.

I give "An Eye for an Eye" five out of five bookmarks, with a paint roller as a charm. Don't miss out on the first book, "In Harm's Way". You can read these as stand-alone novels, but you will miss some fun back story if you do.

Happy Reading!
