Seaside Letters by Denise Hunter

I try very, very hard now not to post my reviews too far in advance of a release date. I don't want the book to get lost in the shuffle and forgotten about...

...plus, I think it's mean to tease you.

Sometimes, though...I just need to read a particular kind of book. Something that will pick me up out of the doldrums...the funky, melancholy-ish feeling that I fall into during different moments of my life.

When I saw the cover of Denise Hunter's soon-to-release Nantucket Love Story, I knew this was the book I needed to read. Her writing is always certain to bring a smile to my face...and to get the much needed tears to flow while I'm smiling.

"Seaside Letters" chronicles the story of Sabrina and Tucker. She waitresses at a diner in Nantucket; he drinks coffee there every morning. Oh, and he runs a company that offers tours of the harbor.

Sabrina can't seem to avoid Tucker's presence, no matter how hard she tries. And avoid him she must--because she's hiding a secret that could ruin the little relationship the two of them have.

And that might just destroy her.

With twists and turns you won't believe in a contemporary Christian romance, Denise takes you on a fun ride that will have you laughing on one page and crying on the next. Either way, you'll long to move to Nantucket by the time she's done with you.

And to have a love story in your life like the one she has a genuine gift for creating. Love just seems sweeter when Denise Hunter is writing about it. Faith is richer, as well...so don't miss out on "Seaside Letters" when it releases from Thomas Nelson this October.

Until then, I'm giving it five out of five bookmarks with a coffee cup as a charm. I'm off to save my pennies for a trip...to guess where?

Happy Reading!

I gave a very different review of this book! Sabrina was not a character I could admire. It wasn't her past sins that put me off, it was her evasions and deceits with Tucker. I was pretty much unable to understand why he remained attracted to her.

However, I can agree that Denise Hunter has a wonderful and engaging writing style and she certainly has a knack for creating interesting characters. The story was very visual and despite the fact that I didn't care much for Sabrina, it never occurred to me to stop reading. The story was exceptionally well crafted.

While my past wasn't like Sabrina's, I had some things in mine that made me ashamed. I had someone in my life like Tucker. I would have thought someone like him was unbelievable as well if I didn't have my own Tucker:-) And, while I didn't approve of Sabrina's behavior, I understood it! I still have a hard time sharing sometimes.
