Beautiful Mess by Diamond Rio with Tom Roland

Integrity, honesty, faith and loyalty are just a few of the words I'd use to characterize this group of music men. We've known them collectively as "Diamond Rio"...now we get a chance to know them as Marty, Dan, Gene, Dana, Jimmy and Brian...the men who make up the group.

"Beautiful Mess" chronicles the journey of the country group, Diamond Rio, through their early days to the present. I've loved this group for a long time, and I'm glad to see them making their way into the Christian music scene and expressing their faith so openly.

The book tells the story of how 'Diamond Rio' came to be...through all of the changes in the group's lineup and the struggle to even become a bonafide country music group. Photos accompany the story, and those are always fun!

Marty Roe shares openly about the crisis that nearly ended the two decade career of the group. Others in the group share about their own struggles as well, talking about their love for one another and for music.

Personal histories are also included--you truly get to know Diamond Rio person to person. Each unique member of this stalwart group shares a bit about their roots and their personality, and how they came to be a part of this rich country music legacy.

The layout of the story is wonderful. Begin with the history of the group and then take a journey through the personal history of each individual member. Then come back together to see if the journey continues on, and which course it may take next.

You've loved their music...and loved the group. Now get to know them through their own words, with the help of author Tom Roland. I'm giving "Beautiful Mess" four out of five bookmarks, with a microphone as a charm.

"Diamond Rio" karaoke, anyone??

Happy Reading!

I love these guys. I got to meet them all after a concert once, and they are the nicest, most down to earth guys. When I saw they had a book out, I was thrilled. I just need to track down a copy!

What a coincidence ~ just yesterday a friend and I were talking about Diamond Rio! I love "Meet in the Middle", it's my fave song by them. :)

Thank you for sharing!
