Author Spotlight with Nicole O'Dell and "Scenarios"!

I hope you're enjoying getting acquainted with a new author of tween/teen fiction that is here to stay! Nicole's unique series will have a wide appeal, and can even be used as Bible study materials or for homeschool values lessons.

Nicole's second book, "All That Glitters", tackles the desire we all have to be unique and to be well-liked, or as it's known in high school...popular. Twins Drew and Dani Daniels are about to begin their freshman year, and they've always looked so much alike they've made it a habit of fooling people...

...but not this year! Drew wants her own look, her own personality makeover, and her own reputation at their school. New look, new friends...and new popularity as she tries out for cheerleader.

But...

...what about Dani, her twin sister? Has she been kicked to the curb, or just forgotten? How will this affect her? Has Drew realized that our decisions don't just affect us, but those around us?

Drew sets out to make her mark...but will her choices mark her forever?

That's up to you, the reader, to decide in the second edition of "Scenarios". Now, if you're like me, you read both endings to the book. Last time, I read the choice that saved Lindsay from a world of grief first.

This time, I read Drew's poor choice, and it broke my heart as a mom. As much as I'd like to believe this doesn't touch my children, I know it does.

And the choices they have to make, every day, determine how they grow, think, and feel about themselves, their relationships with others, and most importantly, their relationships with God.

That's why I'm highly recommending "Scenarios" to families...not just teens. Read them with your daughters. Talk about the pressures that come with standing on principles found in Scripture.

Talk about the outcome of making a poor decision based on feelings or desires. And they may tell you, "Oh, Mom/Dad...that doesn't happen to everyone". Then ask them, "Maybe not. But do you want it to happen to YOU?"

I'm giving "All That Glitters" four out of five bookmarks, with a set of pompoms as a charm. Go team!

Happy Reading!

Those teens are sometimes hard to find books for. Thanks for spotlighting these.
