The Inheritance by Tamera Alexander

Whenever I see the "Women of Faith Fiction" logo on a book, I always know it's going to be a good read! Tamera Alexander's historical novel is a genuinely heart-warming story that captivates you from the first page.

"The Inheritance" finds McKenna Ashford desperate for a fresh start for herself and her younger brother, Robert. She accepts an invitation from her cousin to come West to Copper Creek, Colorado, and takes all she has left to make the move.

But things aren't always what we expect. Just as God called Abraham to another land, but didn't tell him where or how, God has led McKenna to a place where she feels alone and without hope.

Her chance meeting with Marshall Wyatt Caradon brings McKenna mixed comfort. She doesn't want him uncovering her brother's troubled past, but can't deny the help he's been since new tragedy has fallen into her life.

Can McKenna forge ahead and find the inheritance promised by God in His Word...not one of earthly gain, but one of incorruptible and eternal blessing? Does she have what it will take to create a new life for herself and her family?

With rich characters and a unique way of turning a phrase and descriptive wording, Tamera Alexander has found a new fan in me! I loved her word choices and her witty character creations. For me, she's the historical Karen Kingsbury.

I'm giving "The Inheritance" five out of five bookmarks with a rock hard biscuit as a charm. The ending felt a bit rushed for me, but then again....I was tired of watching Robert mess up and McKenna pay for it all!

Happy Reading!
