The Comic Book Bible by Barbour Press

I know some readers are offended by books such as this one, believing it makes light of the importance of Scripture. But we have an autistic member at our church, and books such as this one help him grasp the Scriptures and desire to read them...he gets SO excited!

"The Comic Book Bible" is a gorgeous and value priced book that has high appeal for any age, but especially from reading age through 13. Each page is full color, and captures the essence of the most well known passages of Scripture.

Selections from nearly every book are featured (it's hard to make a story out of Leviticus or Chronicles:-), and are cleverly drawn and written. Scripture is quoted with every story, making it easy for parents and teachers to show kids where the actual story is found in the Bible.

Each story takes up a bout two pages, and has dialogue that is easy to read and not only carries the Biblical truth, but is sometimes clever and funny! I loved reading through this book...it refreshed my love for Scripture.

My son is 15, but he LOVES comics, and he says this is THE BEST book for reluctant readers or those who have a hard time reading the Bible. I'm giving this book four out of five bookmarks, with a set of colored pencils as a charm. My only wish is that it was a bit longer, with more stories!
