Shadows of Lancaster County by Mindy Starnes Clark

I've been a HUGE fan of Mindy Starnes Clark for a long, long time. A new book from Mindy is a treat, and her most recent release (she has a new one coming soon!) was a good read from start to finish.

Who else could take genetics, DNA, murder and Amish culture and mix them all together to create a believable story with intrigue and heart?

"Shadows of Lancaster County" takes Anna Bailey back home...a place she never wanted to be. Tragedy caused Anna to question herself and her place in Pennsylvania, and after she paid her dues, Anna relocated to California.

News of her brother's disappearance and his wife's frantic call for help brings Anna back to where it all went wrong. Her new career as a skip tracer (finder of missing or hiding people for a fee) will help her find her missing brother...

...or will it?

As Anna returns to Lancaster County, secrets long buried come to light. Her old love, Reed Thornton, also returns. Questions arise causing Anna to wonder if she ever really knew him.

And her love for the Amish and their way of life grows stronger. Can Anna's life ever be simple again? Who is behind Bobby's disappearance and who committed murder to cover up their past--or present--acts?

Mindy has written a winner. Her transition from humorous mystery to gothic suspense is a success. I'm eager for her next novel to release and I think you will be as well.

"Shadows of Lancaster County" gets four out of five bookmarks from me, with a test tube as a charm. Considering it took me nearly a month to finish this book due to family needs, that's not too shabby! It's also a testament to the quality of the story...I had no problem picking up where I left off.

Don't miss Mindy's novels! And remember Mom on Mother's Day!

Happy Reading!

I really enjoyed the last Mindy Stearns Clark book I read. (Title slipping my mind, something about Bayou - it was was about art and an old inherited southern mansion) This one sounds interesting as well, with the Amish twist.

I've never read this author before but this book looks very interesting. Now that I'm out of college for the summer, I can get more reading in for purely pleasure.
