The Kidnapping of Kenzie Thorn by Liz Johnson

I have to start this review with a disclaimer: Liz Johnson has become a very dear friend of mine in the publishing world and as a sister in Christ. She helped to launch my blog into the industry, and I adore her.

Having said that, her debut novel is unique within the genre of inspirational romance and suspense. I devoured it in one sitting, and I'm eager for more from Liz!

Kenzie Thorn teaches inmates, preparing them for their GED. Her grandfather is the governor of Oregon, and he helped raise her (along with her grandmother). The bonds between the two of them are tight, and she knows all she has to do is ask and he'll move heaven and earth for her.

When Myles Parsons appears in Kenzie's GED class, her world gets shaken to its core. Myles isn't all he seems...kidnapper? Murderer? Why in the world would anyone want to harm the governor's granddaughter?

With the election looming, the budget pending, and Kenzie missing...how can Governor Mac Thorn focus on his campaign? Is this what the mastermind behind the kidnapping intended? And who exactly is Myles Parsons?

Rich with humor, spunk and snappy dialogue, "The Kidnapping of Kenzie Thorn" was a treat to read. True...a few moments of cheesiness existed...but isn't romance kind of cheesy to some degree?

Liz Johnson's new novel in the Love Inspired Suspense line is a great summer read, and I'm hoping it's just the first of many novels from this new author. I'm giving Kenzie's story four out of five bookmarks, with a first aid kit as a charm.

You'll need one if you hang out with Kenzie for very long!

Happy Reading!
