Author of the Month: Susan's Interview...Brief, but fascinating!!

1) What are the plans for the entire Deep Haven series? Can we look forward to a new look for all of them?

The Deep Haven series is comprised, currently, of three books. Sadly, I don’t have any more Deep Haven books in the works, but I may be trying to find a man for Liza…. (always a matchmaker, I am!)

2) You have a new project coming soon...could you share a bit about it with my readers?

I’m really excited about my new book, Nothing but Trouble – it’s a fun, romantic, light suspense series about a wanna-be PI who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. I’ve been working on it for about three years. (or, maybe doing the research all my life, hmmm) Here’s the blurb for the first one:

It's not fair to say that trouble happens every time PJ Sugar is around, but it feels that way when she returns to her hometown, looking for a fresh start. Within a week, her former teacher is murdered and her best friend's husband is arrested as the number-one suspect. Although the police detective investigating the murder--who also happens to be PJ's former flame--is convinced it's an open-and-shut case, PJ's not so sure. She begins digging for clues in an effort to clear her friend's husband and ends up reigniting old passions, uncovering an international conspiracy, and solving a murder along the way. She also discovers that maybe God can use a woman who never seems to get it right.

It hits the stands just in time for a summer beach read! Go to: http://gotsugar.susanmaywarren.com for sneak peeks and to sign up for free stuff and updates!

3) Of all the characters you've created, and I realize you have a HUGE fictional family, who's your favorite and why?

Oh, I love all my people! That’s so hard to say…I love Josey, because, well, she’s me. (although that makes me sound almost like I’m an egomaniac or something. Yikes!). So, maybe, instead, I like Kat, from Taming Rafe. But again, she’s me. Maybe I have issues. I like RAFE! Yes, Rafe is a broken bullrider, and I love misunderstood, broken men who just need the right woman to help them get back up.

But then again, I like strong heroes too, like Jim Micah, from Flee the Night.

And David Curtiss, from Wiser than Serpents.

Can we just go on to the next question?

4) Favorite Starbucks drink? Favorite M&M style (are you a designer chocolate fan)? Favorite genre to write?

Skinny Vanilla Latte. Although on a good day, I like a White Chocolate Mocha with a shot of sugar free raspberry and light whip (because, well, the sugar free offsets the whip).

Plain M & Ms.

Thrillers with elements of Romance. I love those edge-of-the-seaters!

5) What is the one thing you want readers to take away from your stories?

Grace. That God loves us, and He pours out His grace in our loves over and over again until we get it. Sometimes we just need to ask Him to open our eyes.

And Susan succeeds every single time...you walk away with a fresher understanding of God's grace...and a new set of people to love!

Thanks, Susan!!

Happy Reading!

Loved the brief interview, ladies!

Love that you write my favourite genre, Susie :) I am partway through PJ's story now - lots of fun with a serious side too.

Rafe is my fav but loves your other men as well - hehehe!
