Hi Reading Buds,
Well, it's sloooooowwwwwwwlllllllyyyyyy getting better. Final check with the opthamologist (not the cranky doctor;-) resulted in the following diagnosis:
Due to my hysterectomy, and being 'thrust' into menopause, instead of chin hairs, I got eye trauma. The vitrious humor (nothing funny about it, if you ask me) has separated--that's the gel inside your eyeball that helps you see...or, in my case, NOT see.
A huge blob of it blocked my lens, and it has to dissolve of its own accord. Now, my body has always had a mind of its own, so this blob of goo is taking its own sweet time going away. My eyeball still looks like it has schmutz on it and needs a good washing.
I also have thinning spots in my retina, but nothing can be done about those. I've been told to periodically "rest" my eyes, especially the right one (yeah, right! Me? Rest?). My cue to rest is a massive headache centered nearly inside my eye.
So, no need for surgery. Once my body gets used to its new hormone-less state, it should settle down...but the potential for this to happen in the other eye is high. I'm already seeing tiny floaters in it...when I'm bored, I try to chase them around inside my eyeball (I know, I'm weird).
So, that's it for now. I've official become a SAHM, and joined the ranks of either the unemployed, or retired (I prefer the latter), so I should be reviewing more often now.
Thanks for the prayers and concern. You all are great and wonderful friends, and I'm blessed to have you in my life.
Love ya!

Praise God you won't need surgery! HORRAH! We'll keep praying that it goes away quickly.
Rest my dear friend! That is an order.
Praying for a swift resolution, Deena :) Glad you are hanging in there!
When I was in ninth grade I was on a mission trip to Nassau, Bahamas, in the streets behind all the fancy hotels. Gang life is really big over there, and starts pretty much when you are old enough to walk and talk on your own. There was one big gang fight that broke out at our play place we were helping with between four six year olds. I was part of the effort to break it up and had grabbed one boy and was trying to hold him back and calm him. I have no idea how he did it, but somehow with his struggles I ended up holding him by his ankles while he kicked and moved and no less kicked me, with a bare foot in the right eye. I now have a floater from the scar tissue of that. It's kinda like the bouncy ball from sing-along-songs. It only makes an appearance when I read for a very long time, but other than that doesn't bother me.
I pray your eye heals quickly and that you do not become as frustrated as I was the first few years with the floater.
Ugh. The things your body goes through after a hysterectomy are mind boggling. I know from experience. I've not been blinded, but I did cry over Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back. ;) You are in my prayers and I have faith all will turn out well.
I've been praying every day :). I have floaters too, but not for any good reason!
Another couple of notes while I'm here :) -
I know you'd like to monetize your blog - why not add a BUY NOW link in each review/tour post. That would make it simpler for your readers to purchase than having to go through your astore. That's what I do with my reviews :).
And thanks for taking a stand for Jesus here! That's why I read you ;), Christian reviews!
As another recent hysterectomy victim, I feel your pain. As glad as I was to get rid of mine, it sure has been a lot of trouble! (They should have just let me do it at home, like I wanted to years ago!) I'm praying for your recovery.
blessings,
karen

I am rejoicing that surgery will not be necessary for this eye problem! Hormones, huh? Who'd of thunk it?? We women have a ridiculous amount of hormones to deal with, don't we??
I hope this thing is soon part of your distant past!! Read on!!
Rejoicing,
Kim
