John 3:16 by Nancy Moser

Photobucket

Nancy Moser has a knack for crafting the most complex novels I have ever had the pleasure of reading. She takes her pen in hand like a weaver, taking the tangled strands of multiple lives and weaving them into a gorgeous tapestry of lives changed, lives encountered, and the ever present message of faith.

"John 3:16" is her most gorgeous masterpiece. With a cast of memorable characters that pierce your heart and wedge their way in long after the story is gone, Nancy reminds us once again the power of the most pivital verse in all of Scripture.

Peter has been raised to know the truth of John 3:16, but temptation came his way and he was lured away from that faith. Can he still repent of his sin and return to the ways of his childhood, or can some things never be undone?

Roman, Liane and Velvet refuse to believe. Each carries a load of baggage that would crush the strongest camel. Will any of them put their burden down long enough to uncover the truth of that oft quoted verse? Can they, before it's too late?

Carrie, William, Coach Rollins...all proclaim to know the truth of John 3:16. Do they live it, and in such a way that it will impact lives eternally? Do they put feet to their faith, or is it just lip-service?

Sal and Myra just want to get it right. Just want to be good enough. But what is good enough? Is it winning awards, having the perfect family, the best genes...pleasing your parents in your family heritage? Or is it being open to the One who knows best?

As each life intertwines with others, the picture of exactly what John 3:16 is all about becomes crystal clear. And it is time for the church of today to look hard into that mirrored reflection and ask ourselves...do we resemble that truth to a lost and dying world?

"John 3:16" is a timely and expertly written reminder of why we are all here, and what are we going to do about it. I thank God He had this book come my way, and I hope it comes your way as well from Tyndale House Publishers, October 2008.

Until then, I'm giving "John 3:16" the golden bookmark, with the verse written on a parchment scroll, underlined and highlighted. May we NEVER forget the power of John 3:16!

Happy Reading!
