Lord, Change Me: Living Simply by Joanne Heim

Photobucket

I don't know about you, but my life is crammed full of STUFF: clothes, bags, BOOKS (not that I'm complaining about THAT), events, demands, activities, movie and television viewing, news reports....whew! So, let's pare it down together...

"Living Simply" by Joanne Heim is completely different from a book I reviewed earlier this year. Multnomah has a particular line of books called "bliss"--uncommong refreshment for women--and this book is quite refreshing!

Again, Joanne talks about the multitude of choices we have in our society. It's a blessing, and it's a curse. We can't seem to keep it simple with all of the options we have open to us. It's like we have to have an awful lot since we CAN have an awful lot...

...and it's making us miserable! Just reading her opening pages made me so tired, and made me realize I was reading about my life. After painting the portrait of modern Christian America, Joanne provides solutions that are well...

...simple.

She tackles areas of life one by one, organizing them so that you can read about the one area of your life that needs simplicity most of all, then progress until all of life is more manageable.

Joanne takes us through "A Simple Home", "A Simple Family", and on to "Simple Pleasures (can't leave the fun out, now, can we??). She closes with her favorite resources for simple living...but don't run out and buy a bunch of books on simplifying...

...because wouldn't that defeat the purpose?? Instead, I recommend Joanne Heim's "Living Simply" and give it five out of five bookmarks, with a blank calendar so we can feel ourselves breathe again:-)

Be watching for a giveaway soon...very soon.....

Happy Reading!
