The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones

Again, another top-notch children's Bible from Zonderkidz! This time, let me introduce you to a Bible that has truly captured my heart. I only wish this one had been around when mine were still littles.

"The Jesus Storybook Bible" is unique in one very special way--and the cover captures it beautifully. 'Every story whispers His name'. Have we forgotten that? That our Savior's name is spoken on literally every page of God's Word in some fashion?

This little Bible for small children opens with an explanation of just what the Bible is, explained in a clear and easy to understand way. Sally takes great care to help littles understand that the Bible has been misrepresented and misunderstood.

She wants to insure that littles know this is the greatest and most fascinating love letter to God's greatest and most fascinating of creation--US. It might do us ALL some good to read through this gorgeous little children's Bible:-)

With clever and colorful illustrations, "The Jesus Storybook Bible" makes reading Scripture FUN. I loved reading this book...rather, this Bible. The story of creation is going to be a terrific read and respond story, I can already tell. But you'd have to read it yourself to get my meaning.

Something I love about Sally's Bibles for children is the interactive feeling I get when I read them. I don't know if she designed them with this purpose in mind, but I honestly cannot see how a parent or caregiver could just hand these to their children and walk away.

They beckon you to sit down and take time to read, to interact, and to discuss with your child the Holy Scriptures--something I fear we don't do enough of in our busy, rush here and there society.

Again, let me urge you to take your child to the actual Bible and show him or her where the story is found in God's Book...and then read it yourself with fresh eyes after reading it to your child with Sally's imaginative storytelling.

I'm giving "The Jesus Storybook Bible" the Golden Bookmark Award for publishing and writing excellence, with a golden bookmark as a charm. I'm also voting it "Best Children's Bible Storybook of 2008". Pick up a few for Christmas gifts for the children in your life---the best gift you could ever give that speaks of the best Gift we've ever been given--JESUS.

Happy Reading!
